Bobcats Sports & Entertainment (BSE) President and Chief Operating Officer Fred Whitfield unveiled today “Win As One” as the team's advertising campaign for the 2010-11 season. Following the most successful season in franchise history, which included team records for wins in a season, home wins in a season, longest win streak, the “Win As One” campaign speaks to the philosophy that helped create that unprecedented on-court success, and the franchise’s commitment to bringing positive change to the community.
"With our ownership change back in March came one of the most time-tested philosophies in all of sports – namely that teams perform their best when they play together," said Whitfield. "In a sports savvy market like the Carolinas, that philosophy not only resonates with fans but also clearly identifies how we want to play, and the impact we seek to make in the community.”
Utilizing print, electronic, outdoor, direct mail and web-based media, the campaign will feature the words “Win As One” in block letters and images of the crowd at a sold out Time Warner Cable Arena during the NBA Playoffs last April. Advertisements will debut the week of October 18 with a digital campaign on charlotteobserver.com, followed shortly by outdoor digital billboards ads, television and radio spots, and grass roots marketing activation. Creative content for the campaign was developed through a joint venture with Charlotte-based Boone Oakley, BSE’s new agency of record.
"The Bobcats are a client who clearly knows who they are and what they want to achieve,” said Boone Oakley President and Creative Director David Oakley. “Collaborating with them on their vision and theme line has been invigorating."
Bobcats Sports & Entertainment operates the Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Time Warner Cable Arena, located in the heart of uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. The Bobcats will begin their seventh season of play in the NBA later this month after reaching the postseason last spring for the first time in franchise history.
